Presentation

Longstanding vertigo without a clear cause.

Patient Data

Age: 62 years
Gender: Female
MRI

The MRA shows medial deviation of both ICA in their prevertebral course.

Case Discussion

The ICA normally originates posterolaterally to ECAHowever in 10% of patients, it originates medially, and deviates medially so that the caroitds approach each other in the midline. This is called kissing carotids.
