There is moderate to severe dilatation at intrahepatic bile ducts. Cut off is seen at the proximal portion of the right and left hepatic ducts. CHD does not appear, and the distal part of CBD shows normal caliber.
The gallbladder is not seen because of prior surgery.
Case Discussion
Features on MR images are most compatible with the Klatskin tumor, which is a hilar cholangiocarcinoma, occurring at the bifurcation of the common hepatic duct. Typically, these tumors are small, poorly differentiated, exhibit aggressive biologic behavior, and obstruct the intrahepatic bile ducts.
