Patient Data

Age: 65

Left-sided aortic arch. Aberrent right subclavian artery which is proximally ectatic associated with a Kommerell's diverticulum.

Lung cancer is seen involving the left inferior lobe (lung window not shown), with associated mediastinal lymphadenopathy. Accessorily, a small hiatal herniation is seen.

Case Discussion

Although mainly described with right-sided aortic arch and aberrant left subclavian artery, Kommerell diverticulum is also used to describe the outpoutching at the origin of an aberrant right subclavian artery (left-sided aortic arch).
