Presentation

Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, abdominal distension and pelvic pain for 6 months.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
ct
  • Irregular mural thickening in the distal part of the gastric body and gastric antrum
  • few small regional lymph nodes
  • significant ascites
  • large, well-defined, complex mass lesions with heterogeneous enhancement in the right and left ovaries. 
  • bilateral pleural effusions

Case Discussion

This is a biopsy proven adenocarcinoma of the stomach. The presence of ovarian masses in a case of gastric adenocarcinoma represents metastasis to the ovaries, the so-called Krukenberg tumour.
