A 22-gauge Tuohy needle was inserted under fluoroscopic guidance into the L5-S1 interlaminar space. A loss of resistance technique was used to gain access into the epidural space, with subsequent injection of iodinated contrast confirming the needle position. The steroid containing solution was then given without immediate side effects.
Case Discussion
Successful interlaminar epidural steroid injection.
