Presentation

Presenting with abnormal head shape, evaluate for craniosynostosis

Patient Data

Age: 2 months
Gender: Female
x-ray
  1. anterior fontanelle, as well as the sagittal, bilateral coronal and lambdoid sutures are patent

  2. no evidence of craniosynostosis

  3. few Wormian bones are noted in the lambdoid suture and may be idiopathic/anatomical variant

  4. diffuse flattening of the occipital region may be due to positional plagiocephaly.

  5. bone density is normal. No abnormal calcifications. Both orbits are intact.
