Recent acute pancreatitis, ? evidence of choledocholithiasis.

Gender: Female

Segmented tubular structure encircling the proximal stomach is of low signal intensity on T1 and high signal intensity on T2

Case Discussion

Gastric bands are common and clearly identified on CT and plain films since they contain a radio-opaque material but might be confused on MRI.  The typical feature is segmented T2 brightening encircling the stomach.  These segments are the inflatable portions of the band containing infused saline.
