Presentation

Seizure.

Patient Data

Age: 14 years
Gender: Male

Large left middle cranial fossa arachnoid cyst (following CSF on all sequences, no retricted diffusion). It has mass effect on left frontal, temporal lobes and left lateral ventricle. 

Case Discussion

Arachnoid cysts are CSF filled cysts, over 50% of which occuring in middle cranial fossa. They are usually asympthomatic but larger ones may cause mass effect related symptoms like seizure, headache, and focal neurologic signs.
