Presentation
The patient complains from headache and seizures attacks for about past ten years.
Patient Data
A large CSF intensity, extra-axial lesion in the left anterior and middle cranial fossae resulting extrinsic compression over the left fronto-temporal lobes, mild effacement of the left lateral ventricle and midline shift of approximately 5 mm toward the right side.
No connection of this lesion with the ventricular system.
No post-contrast enhancement or diffusion restriction.
Case Discussion
Arachnoid cysts are mainly small and asymptomatic, but when significantly large, they can cause symptoms due to mass effects which can be either direct neurological dysfunction or obstructive hydrocephalus.
