A cystic lesion is seen adjacent to thyrohyoid membrane on right side, which appears to communicate with larynx, through thyrohyoid membrane. Lesion shows homogenous fluid attenuation, with no post-contrast enhancement.
Case Discussion
Characteristic location and clinical history, as well as CT features, suggest external laryngocele.
An important differential consideration is a thyroglossal cyst. However, cyst did not move on deglutition, and typical location favored a laryngocele.
