Non-traumatic onset of left knee pain - lateral aspect for 4 - 6 wks.

Patient Data

Age: about 40 yrs
Gender: Female

Referred with plain radiograph of knee showing calcification in lateral collateral ligament region

Lateral collateral ligament

- Intact

- Calcification ( without posterior acoustic shadowing ) in proximal end of ligament
  - measures 18 x 13 x 4 mm
  - Local hypervascularity is seen.

- Rest of the ligament - normal echopattern.

Findings of calcification involving proximal end of lateral collateral ligament of knee joint.
