Patient Data
Lateral meniscus bucket handle tear with a non-visualized posterior horn in place, absent bow
tie sign of the meniscus, flipped meniscus sign and double PCL sign. The ACL is not seen near its femoral attachment while the rest of its fibers are seen sagging inferiorly with intra-substance areas of high signal intensity in all pulse sequences.
Associated patchy areas of marrow edema pattern are seen involving the lateral femoral
condyle and the tibial condyles.(bone marrow contusions).
Mild left knee joint effusion.
Case Discussion
A lateral meniscus bucket handle tear with flipped meniscus sign and absent bow tie sign.
The presence of double PCL sign with lateral meniscus bucket handle tear occurs in the presence of torn ACL as demonstrated in this case.
