30 years old with recent history of direct knee trauma

Patient Data

Age: 30 years old
Gender: Female
mri

Ill defined patchy areas of marrow edema signal eliciting bright STIR signal are seen involving the antero-lateral aspect of lateral femoral condyle as well as medial patellar articular facet, associated complete oblique fracture the later with partial separation is seen. The medial retinacular ligament is thickened showing intrinsic abnormal signal with no complete fibers disruption. Moderate knee joint effusion.

 

Case Discussion

Acute transient lateral patellar dislocation with medial patellar retinaculum injury and medial patellar articular facet fracture.
