Latissimus dorsi muscle injury

Presentation

Snap in the right axillary region when tried to throw a cricket ball. Complaining of local pain, ecchymosis, difficulty in throwing.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

There is a fluid-filled defect (about 40 x 20 x 10 mm) in the latissimus dorsi muscle which is located away from the myotendinous junction. The latissimus dorsi tendon is intact. Teres major muscle and its tendon are intact.  The local subcutaneous fat at the muscle tear site shows edema.

The short-axis images are from the caudal to the cranial direction.

The rotator cuff was normal. However, cuff images are not uploaded here.
