Known case of ulcerative colitis.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

There is complete loss of haustral markings throughout the colon, and the organ appears smooth-walled and cylindrical called lead pipe appearance. Severe long segment stricture is also noted at ascending colon and hepatic flexure of the colon.

Case Discussion

The lead pipe appearance of colon is the classical barium enema finding in chronic ulcerative colitis.
