Case Discussion
This case is unusual: in most cases where the endotracheal tube is below the carina, the tube goes into the right main bronchus because the right bronchus arises more directly from the trachea. Prolonged intubation of a main bronchus often results in atelectasis of the contralateral lung, not present in this case.
