Left hilar mass: small cell lung cancer

Presentation

Cough.

Patient Data

Age: 65
Gender: Male
Modality: X-ray

Irregular mass in the left hilum. Mild linear atelectasis in left lower lobe. No pleural or pericardial effusion. Cardiomediastinal contour normal for age and projection. Sternal wiring noted.

Modality: CT

CT confirms the presence of a left hilar mass and also demonstrated extensive liver metastases.

Case Discussion

Subsequent liver biopsy confirmed small cell carcinoma.
