Triangular left paravertebral opacity with a double cardiac contour. Left shift of the mediastinum. Blunting of the left costophrenic angle.

A pathological mass in the lower pole of the left hilum with complete obstruction of the left lower lobar bronchus, and consequential left lower lobe collapse.
Mediastinal lymphadenopathy and left pleural effusion are also present.
Case Discussion
Although the findings on CT are obvious and easy to spot, it is important not to miss not such a finding on the plain film, especially if there is only a frontal projection available.
