Presentation

Productive cough and fevers for 3 days.

Patient Data

Age: 58
Gender: Male
x-ray

Airspace consolidation abutting the left diaphragmatic border with associated air bronchograms in the basal posterior segment of the left lower lobe.

On the lateral projection, there is loss of the normal darkening of the thoracic spine inferiorly.

Findings are compatible with left lower lobe pneumonia.
