Chest x-ray

There is extensive left lower lobe consolidation due to pneumonia. It predominantly involves the left medial basal segments. This is best appreciated on the lateral view. No cardiac failure.

Case Discussion

When assessing chest x-rays, it is of vital importance to look at the lateral when available.
