Left lower lobe pneumonia

Presentation

Recurrent abdominal pain for a week. No respiratory symptoms. Leucocytosis. Thought to be an urinary tract infection. X-Ray taken only for protocol.

Modality: X-ray

Large area of consolidation in the left lower lobe with alveolar pattern. The x-ray does not reveal the severity of the case because it is predominantly retrocardiac. 

Modality: CT

Large retrocardiac consolidation with alveolar infiltration of the left basal lobe and small focus on the superior right lobe.
