Case Discussion

To reduce an anterior shoulder dislocation, the elbow is positioned at a right angle, and the humerus is abducted to form a right angle with the trunk. Gradual external rotation of the humerus is then performed until the humeral head clicks back into the glenoid cavity. This method is straightforward, minimally painful, and yields excellent results.
