Presentation

Left-sided chest pain and fever. Known hypertensive.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
  • Multiple atelactatic bands in bilateral lower lobes.
  •  Left sided superior vena cava, draining in to the coronary sinus.
x-ray

Linear opacity, likley representing atelactasis, noted in left lower lung zone. The remaining lung zones are well-aerated and clear. No pleural effusion or pneumothorax is seen.

Case Discussion

Left-sided superior vena cava is the commonest congenital venous anomaly of the chest. It was an incidental finding in our case.
