Left upper lobe collapse

Case contributed by Dr Paul Smith

Left pleuritic chest pain.

A hazy vieling opacity can be seen projected over the Left upper zone, associated with elevation of the left hemidiaphragm, loss of lung volume in the left hemithorax and deviation of the trachea to the left.

These features are in keeping with a left upper lobe collapse.
