Lesser trochanteric bursitis

Chronic right hip pain.

Patient Data

Age: 18 years
Gender: Female

MRI through the hip joints reveal an enlarged lesser trochanteric bursa.

Case Discussion

A bursitis in this location could be the result of a narrowed distance between the ischium and lesser trochanter. When leading to symptoms the general term used is ischiofemoral impingement.
