A vessel seen lateral to the aortic arch extends from the left brachiocephalic vein to the left superior pulmonary vein before entering the left atrium, consistent with a persistent levoatrial cardinal vein.
Case Discussion
A persistent left-sided SVC, partial anomalous pulmonary venous return (PAPVR), and prominent left superior intercostal vein are differential diagnoses that should be borne in mind when a vascular structure passes left lateral to the aortic arch.
