Lingual thyroid

A slightly hyperdense mass (45 x 34 mm) is seen at midline supraglottic space which is indistinguishable from the posterior aspect of the tongue and shows vivid post contrast enhancement. The normal thyroid gland is not seen at the anatomical location.
No lymphadenopathy.
Case Discussion
The findings are consistent with an ectopic lingual thyroid.
Thyroid scan had marked uptake at the location of mass in favor of lingual thyroid (Not shown here).
