Presentation

Work up for dyspepsia and vomiting.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male
ct

Diffusely increased wall thickness suggestive of tumoral infiltration is present in the stomach, accompanied by perigastric fat stranding and several small regional enlarged lymph nodes.

The prostate gland is markedly enlarged. 

A small amount of free fluid is present in the pelvis.

Case Discussion

Pathology proved gastric adenocarcinoma (signet ring type) causing linitis plastica.

On cross-sectional images of linitis plastica, the stomach is diffusely thickened with a small lumen. 
Gastric adenocarcinoma (signet ring type), lung and breast cancer metastasis, and lymphoma are on top of the differential list for linitis plastica.
