Lipomatous hypertrophy of the interatrial septum

Had workup for nonspecific chest pain. Echocardiography noted "3 x 3.4cm mass in interatrial septum, near RA roof, with some compression on SVC. Fixed in wall. ? lymphoma"

Age: 68
Gender: Female

CT shows well defined mass of fatty attentuation between the atria, causing some extrinsic compression on the SVC confluence.

Case Discussion

Appearances in this case are typical of lipomatous hypertrophy of the interatrial septum.
