Sacral dysraphism covered with skin and subcutaneous fatty tissue is seen.
The neural placode-lipoma interface is located within the spinal canal associated with tethered cord and large synringohydromyelia.
These findings are compatible with lipomyelocele.
Case Discussion
Lipomyelocele is one of the commonest closed spinal dysraphism presenting as subcutaneous mass. It is seen in thoracolumbar region and usually presents as fatty subcutaneous mass.
There is usually associated tethered low lying cord or syrinx of terminal spinal cord.
