There is a well defined, heterogeneously sclerotic density with a sclerotic rim located in the intertrochanteric region of the femur that is nonexpansile, has no periosteal reaction, no cortical involvement, and no other associated findings.
This is an incidental finding, as the CAM impingement observed here was likely responsible for the patient's symptoms that led to this study being obtained.

Case Discussion
The appearance of the lesion described above is consistent with an liposclerosing myxofibrous tumor (LSMFT) , although could also represent fibrous dysplasia.
In either case, this is most likely a benign lesion with no need for treatment, just occasional imaging follow up, as 10-16% of LSMFT lesions reportedly undergo malignant degeneration, although that estimate seems high based on this authors experience.
