Factory worker had his right foot run over by a forklift. He was wearing steel capped boots.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male

Selected CT images of the right foot confirm the plain film findings of the fractured base of the second metatarsal.

Diastasis of the lisfranc joint.

Findings consistent with lisfranc fracture/dislocation


There is a fracture involving the base of the second metatarsal.

Suspicion of lisfranc fracture/dislocation discussed with Orthopedic team. The patient was referred for a CT of the foot for surgical planning

Case Discussion

This patient was placed in a backslab plaster and admitted by the orthopedic team. He was planned for delayed surgical repair.
