Lisfranc fracture/dislocation

Factory worker had his right foot run over by a forklift. He was wearing steel capped boots.

Patient Data

Age: 52
Gender: Male

Selected CT images of the right foot confirm the plain film findings of fractured base of second metatarsal.

Diastasis of the lisfranc joint.

Findings consistent with lisfranc fracture/dislocation


There is a fracture involving the base of the second metatarsal.

Suspicion of lisfranc fracture/disolation discussed with Orthopedic team. The patient was referred for a CT of the foot for surgical planning

Case Discussion

This patient was placed in a backslab plaster and admitted by the orthopedic team. He was planned for delayed surgical repair.
