Presentation
Chronic midfoot pain.
Patient Data
Left longitudinal arch height is preserved. No left hallux valgus. Left 3rd/4th toe crossover and lateral deviation of the third toe. 2nd and 3rd hammertoe alignment.
Osteophytes between the left M1 and M2 bases. Asymmetric widening between the left C1-M2 with step in C2-M2 alignment.
Mild joint space narrowing at the C1-M1 articulation.
Prior right hallux valgus correction surgery with residual malalignment.
Case Discussion
Appearances are suggestive of a chronic left Lisfranc injury. Note how the C1-M2 gap is increased on the weight-bearing x-rays and clearly abnormal when compared to the right foot.
