Liver abscess

Presentation

Fever and right hypochondrium pain for 3 days.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Ultrasound was done with curvilinear probe. Atleast three well defined rounded lesions were seen in its parenchyma. Internal breakdown and internal echoes were seen.

The same patient was followed on CECT abdomen. three hypodense lesions are seen in liver parenchyma with marked hepatomegaly with HU 25 to 35. no contrast enhancemnt is seen.thick walls are seen.

Case Discussion

Patient came with high grade fever and right hypochondium pain. On ultrasound atleast three well defined lesions were seen with internal echoes and internal breakdown. On CT scan the hypodense lesions were detected with HU of 25 to 35 in liver parenchyma.
