Liver and adrenal gland trauma

Presentation

Road traffic accident caused blunt abdominal trauma. CT scan abdomen & Pelvis - on day of trauma - Liver contusion and right adrenal haematoma. Referred for 48 hrs follow up by ultrasound.

Patient Data

Age: about 50 yrs
Gender: Male
Ultrasound

Enlarged right adrenal gland.  

Heterogeneous echopattern area in right lobe of liver -  contusion.

Right perinephric fluid rim. Right kidney is normal.

Minimal free fluid in pelvis.

Case Discussion

Findings of liver contusion, enlarged right adrenal gland - Post traumatic and mild free fluid in pelvis.
