Presentation

Blunt abdominal trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

A 3 cm subcapsular laceration was found across IVb - III segments of the liver AAST grade III, hypodense with inhomogeneous enhancement in the venous phase; a small amount of fluid in the subhepatic space.

No fractures were found.

Case Discussion

A young man went to ER with blunt abdominal trauma. 16-slice CT scan showed a laceration in the liver with a small amount of fluid in the subhepatic space. No fractures of the ribs were found. The patient was managed conservatively.
