Axial CT images of soft tissue window demosntrate parapneumonic effusion in the left side.
Axial and coronal CT images in a lung window show left upper lobe consolidation with evidence of air bronchogram sign.
Few patchy air space opacifications are also noted in the rest of the lungs.
Case Discussion
The CT findings alongside the clinical history are suggestive of lobar pneumonia involving the left upper lobe with parapneumonic effusion. A follow-up study is recommended.
