CT without contrast allows to value hypodensity  as the result of a stroke of the brainstem.

CTA allows assessment of the cerebral vessels and in particularly the basilar artery.

Case Discussion

CT without contrast shows stroke as hypodensity of the ventral brainstem.

CTA of the cerebral vessels allows appreciation of the thrombosis of the basilar artery. Reference ROI is set on the aortic arch, with bolus tracking and the scan starts automatically when il reaches an intensity of 100 HU.
