Presentation

Car door closed on the right index finger. Marked soft tissue swelling.

Patient Data

Age: 10 years

A meandering hairline fracture is visible on the middle phalanx. On the lateral view only the soft tissue swelling can be discerned.

Crush injuries to the fingers can result in longitudinally extending fractures.
