Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

Coronal oblique MRCP shows a low medial insertion of cystic duct. No gallstones and no duct filling defects.

Cystic duct drains at lower 3rd of common bile duct from left side (red dotted line).

Case Discussion

The cystic duct inserts into the middle one-third of the extrahepatic bile duct in 75% of cases and into the distal one-third in 10%. It most commonly inserts from a right lateral position.
