Lung adenocarcinoma

Case contributed by Dr Hani Makky ALSALAM

Smoker with incidental right middle lobe nodule in CT scan of the abdomen evaluating a pelvi-abdominal lesion.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

Small nodule at the right middle lobe, best appreciated on lateral radiography.

Right middle lobe nodule with spiculation. Moderate centrilobular emphysema.

Case Discussion

Some nodules are hard to appreciate on frontal projection solely. This case emphasizes the importance of lateral radiography for correlation and confident diagnosis of an otherwise subtle finding.

Pathologically proven adenocarcinoma
