Lung cancer with paratracheal lymphadenopathy

Presentation

Cough and unintentional weight loss.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female

Presenting CXR

x-ray

Multiple right upper lobe nodules with right paratracheal mass. Left lung clear, no pleural effusion.

CXR 2 years prior

x-ray

Normal portable chest X-ray.

Multiple right upper lobe nodules with right hilar, paratracheal and supraclavicular lymphadenopathy. Probable tracheal invasion by enlarged right paratracheal lymph nodes. Multiple liver metastases.

Case Discussion

This is a good example of widening of a previously normal right paratracheal stripe due to lymph node metastases from lung cancer.
