Numerous small areas of decreased lung attenuation lie centrally within the secondary pulmonary lobules. There are also small paraseptal bullae in the upper lobes.
A few atelectatic bands are also seen in both lungs, particularly at the bases.
Case Discussion
Findings are consistent with confluent centrilobular and paraseptal emphysema, typical of smoking-related emphysema.
