Lung metastases from osteosarcoma

Presentation

Known case of osteosarcoma with cough and breath shortness.

Patient Data

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male
CT

Chest

Multiple pulmonary nodules measuring less than 33 mm are seen in both lungs. Most of them show central ossification. Mild to moderate pleural effusion is noted bilaterally.

Case Discussion

Known case of osteosarcoma with pulmonary metastasis and pleural effusion
Treated metastases, osteosarcomas and chondrosarcomas may also contain calcified densities.

In the pediatric population, the most common primaries for pulmonary metastases are rhabdomyosarcomaosteosarcomaWilms tumorEwing sarcoma and neuroblastoma.
