Lung metastases (testicular choriocarcinoma)

Presentation

Recently diagnosed histologically confirmed metastatic testicular choriocarcinoma. Acute desaturation during chemotherapy due to pulmonary embolism, warranting intubation.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

Confluating nodular lesions of variable size in all lung fields, reduced transparency of the basal zones, indicating concurrent atelectasis. The ET tube is in a normal position.

Case Discussion

Testicular choriocarcinoma is a highly agressive tumor, where the lungs are the most commonly affected site of metastatic spread.
