Presentation

G1P0 morphology scan.

Patient Data

Age: about 24 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Right kidney - normal position, size, shape, echopattern. No hydronephrosis.

Normal right adrenal gland seen curving around upper pole of right kidney.

Left kidney - Not localized. 

"Lying-down" (flat) adrenal gland on the left side.

The lying adrenal sign is a feature seen usually associated with renal agenesis or sometimes with renal ectopia.
