Presentation
Progressive painless swelling of the left chest wall with no fever.
Patient Data
A multiseptated cystic mass of the left chest wall with posterior acoustic enhancement.
A well-defined lobulated multiseptated cystic mass of the left posterior chest wall, medial to the serratus muscle and anterior to the latissimus dorsi with mild enhancement of the septae following IV contrast. No intrathoracic extension or erosion of the adjacent ribs.
The cystic mass measures 8x4.5 cm with yellow citrine content.
Microscopically: the inner wall lined by fibrin and surrounded by fibrous tissue and covered with smooth muscle cells and seat of hyperplasia made of vessels of variable size engorged with blood, bordered by a regular endothelium.
Case Discussion
A case of a lymphangioma of the chest wall confirmed after surgery and histopathological study.
