CT reveals a confluent mass which is encasing the abdominal aorta and its branches. These images two classic signs of lymphoma.

Case Discussion

The "sandwich sign" refers to sandwiching of vessels by lymphoma and not narrowing them.

The other sign is the "floating aorta" sign - the aorta is lifted away from the vertebral column by the lymphoma mass.

Final diagnosis: Lymphoma (Hodgkins)
