Obvious deformity.

Patient Data

Age: Child

Left hand x-rays

Radiographs of the left hand of a child demonstrate marked hypertrophy of the middle finger, with associated enlargement of the phalanges. There is no soft tissue calcification or focal osseous mass.

Case Discussion

This case illustrated features consistent with macrodystrophia lipomatosa, a rare nonhereditary congenital form of localized gigantism.
